“Weaving its way through all this is a theme of movement.”

Gradient
There are a range of senses that shape one moment. Using a depth camera that tracks body parts this installation has reduced the traditional landscape into a colour gradient, a range from our Southland skies. The purpose of the work is playful and to let the viewer conduct, alone or in collaboration with others. The installation tracks up to six bodies, calculating the furthest points of limbs to control colour range.
An interactive video installation in the Art Attic Gallery as part of the “same, same but different” exhibition by Nela and Tim Fletcher.
Video Installation - variable size - 2023
Corps
‘Corps’ French for “body” but also meaning ensemble or group. A dance company is commonly known as a corps of dancers. In this case a layering of a single body into recognisable forms, echoes choreographic structures. An impersonal use of body in space to achieve an effect only possible with many.
Corps - Series of Digital Collages - 2023
Landscapes
A body captured in one environment, extracted and layered to create a new one. Landscapes investigate a dancer’s approach to the classic genre.
Landscapes - Digital Collage - 2022
