3 Day Film Workshop for 11 - 16 year olds
Get ready for action with our thrilling 3-day workshop. A Film Challenge is a concept used world-wide to run short form competitions.
Tick off the criteria and make it come to life while exploring creative choices. Rangatahi will learn to create their own dynamic chase sequence!
Dive into filmmaking, focusing on the essential skills needed to plan, shoot, and edit an engaging short film.
Participants will
Understand the fundamentals of camera use and shot composition.
Create their own screen play and dialogue
Develop planning and storyboarding skills to outline their chase sequence.
Act and direct each other
Learn about different film genres
Experiment with camera angles and movement to enhance tension.
Edit their footage, incorporating cuts, transitions, and sound effects to create a polished final product.
This course is designed to engage the imagination and teach rangatahi how to start thinking critically.
At the beginning of the workshop rangatahi will open an envelope to find
a film genre
specific camera angles
a line of dialogue, and
an editing technique
These constraints will frame their thinking and set the wheels in motion to create their own solution.
By the end of the workshop each participant, while working in a group, will have completed a short film, showcasing their abilities and creativity learnt over three days. This hands-on experience is perfect for aspiring filmmakers looking to explore the art of cinematic storytelling.
