Theatre workshops for education

What is theatre? Telling stories? Acting? Playing around?

It is all of these things. And these things used correctly are powerful tools for us to explain the world and how it works. It is not reserved for the few that we label as good actors but for all of us to experience different perspectives, empathy, expression, creativity and meaning.

Used correctly and purposefully as a resource for exploration, it steers away from being dramatic and putting people in an awkward spotlight to guiding inquiry and opportunities to embody concepts and content.

These theatre workshops provide a resource for teachers to adapt and use basic theatre ideas and exercise in all subject areas. It assists young people to grasp and understand the curriculum through an interdisciplinary approach.

“I have trained in dance since I was six years old. It has always been an innate drive. After dancing professionally and working in theatres in Europe for over a decade I then taught dance and theatre in an International Baccalaureate school for nine years, dance and movement has been a constant through life. I am passionate about sharing the power, joy and importance dance and theatre has in our lives.” Tim Fletcher
